&lt;div&gt;&lt;p&gt;40 minutes after the discovery of the starling, the male and female return. The male enters the hole and then exits rapidly, possibly along with the intruder. Subsequently the female is able to start bringing twigs and entering the vacated hole.&lt;/p&gt;
