No Volunteer session this weekend

Hi All,

There is no formal volunteer session this weekend, however Mike and Di Cundy will be doing an invertebrate collection from the pit fall traps on the ACW, meeting at the rangers station at 8.45am on Sat 30th

This involves a pleasant half-one hour walk finding the pitfall traps on the ground and bringing them in for our entomologist Peter Maddison to sort.

It would be very helpful to have a wider group of people who know where these traps are and they only need to be put out three times per year so not a big ask. ( The pitfall traps are ex plastic cat food containers in a hole in the ground )

Our plants, birds and Lizards are all reliant on good insect numbers so this is important data for us.

We have now completed our peripheral baiting save the odd line or two, which we have managed to do before wasp numbers build up. Thankyou for your great support.

Last week some excellent volunteers helped with the AW Block in the Watercare area and this has now also been completely baited for the second time.

The Next full volunteer day will be on the first Sat in Feb-Sat Feb 6th
