The next Day is this Sat 5th June meeting at 9am at the rangers station and the forecast is for ' fine weather.'
Baiting We are doing well with only U9, T10, W 17-24, some zoo lines, and Kelly's Block to be done in the original area
* On Sat we will be making a start on Gleeson's Block between the Dam Rd and Gleeson's track which is acting as a buffer zone to prevent rats from entering the area where 6 of our kokako are present.
This was last baited 7 weeks ago when it was found to be almost totally eaten out, so it will be interesting this time around.

* Kelly Block Baiting ( Dam Rd to Spur line) Tues 15th June meeting at the rangers station at 9am
On Tues 15th June we will be joined by about 20 'army corps' senior pupils from Kelston Boys High School where John Staniland is a classics teacher.
We need 10 volunteers to help show them the 'joys of doing a baitline' in Kelly's block so they can continue to help with the Ark project.

Small Digger request
Does anyone have experience using a digger or better still own a digger [very small one]
A new track in matuku may benefit from a mechanical digger as we no longer have ball and chain gangs like in the good old days.
