Next Day: Saturday 17th April

The Next day is this Sat 17th, meeting at the Rangers station at 9am

There are two events -

 1.  Bushcraft course

 2. Baiting session in Gleesons area.

Let me know which one you choose

1. Bush Craft course 9am at the rangers station ( about 2hrs long)  run by experienced ranger John Walsh

* Discussion on what safety equipment you should have in your packs and how to use it

* Use of a two way radio

* Compass and map use

* Out in the park using maps and compasses

The first 10 people to contact me will be accepted for this. ( John will be able to do another session at a later date)

Could you please come at 9am to assist with transport for the Gleesons baiting, so we can all meet for our sausage together

People booked so far are Keryn, Grant, Jeanne, ( plus father) and Prue.

New Baiting of Gleesons Block

We will be rebaiting (2 bags) in the new Gleesons block between Gleesons track and the Dam Rd. The block has had its first baiting and we anticipate that the stations  which are 100m apart, will be empty. The lines have been properly cleared and all cotton removed.

The exciting thing for us is that our 6 kokako are alive and well and hanging out further south in the new block. Thus the Gleesons block is an important buffer against rats coming in from the Scenic Dr

These lines are mostly long and will need a reasonably good level of fitness- in via Gleesons and out to your car on the Dam Rd.

Please let me know if you can come

Karen
