Big Day Out: Saturday 28th January

Dear Volunteers,

The Cutty Grass block needs baiting again.  Last time was a mission- so this time it'll be easier.  We plan to do a south and north line consecutively so that each combo will be about 30-40 bait stations. A gorgeous packed lunch, to have along the way, will be provided and the combo of lines we expect will be done and dusted by 2.30 to 4pm.  Return to the Anawhata car park to sign in, have a coffee and cake [or beer and crisps!] and head on home.

The lines are well cut, easy to follow and the way out via the Rata track is easy.

Contact Jane at nature.project@forestandbird.org.nz if you have the day free.

 Correction:

Please forgive me for the incorrect species identification of the Mahoe in the photo in the previous bulletin.  It should read Melicytus macrophyllus which indeed has fewer and larger flowers and fruits and a thicker and different shaped leaf from the "normal" Mahoe (Whiteywood).
